In Sub-Saharan Africa, 25-year-old Awa is trapped in a cycle of poverty and domestic abuse. Exploited by her uncle and forced into unpaid labor, she refuses to surrender to a condemned life. Driven by a singular obsession, Awa decides to reach Europe—the "El Dorado" where she believes a better future awaits, just as it did for her mother.

Ignoring the pleas of her boyfriend Patrice, who hopes for a local future, Awa chooses to BOZA: embarking on the perilous path of illegal migration. Her journey across the desert and sea becomes a brutal odyssey of human trafficking and extreme suffering.
