Angèle Diabang trained at the Forut Media Centre in Dakar (2003), as well as at La Fémis in Paris and the Filmakademie in Germany. In 2005, she directed her first film, Mon beau sourire, which received critical acclaim and multiple awards. She went on to direct several documentaries, including Congo: A Doctor to Save Women, the first film about Dr. Denis Mukwege, Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2018.


She later moved into fiction with My Beloved Co-Wife and Un air de kora, both internationally awarded. Her latest feature, Une si longue lettre (2025), became a major box office success in Senegal and across West Africa, outperforming Hollywood blockbusters and attracting large audiences, demonstrating the power of locally rooted stories.


In 2006, she founded Karoninka, producing films across Africa and Europe. She also served as Chair of SODAV, Senegal’s collective management organization.
