Jered Everson is a Minneapolis-based filmmaker dedicated to social impact storytelling, inspired by his upbringing with a single mother who worked as a civil rights attorney. He recently produced Her Fight, His Name: The Story of Gwen Carr and Eric Garner, directed by Brad Bailey and co-produced with multi–Oscar winner and longtime Sundance alum Doug Blush (The Elephant Whisperers). The film has screened and received awards at major festivals and institutions including Woodstock, Cleveland, St. Louis, Indy Shorts, Cannes, Dances With Films, LACMA, Harvard, the American Cinematheque, and the American Academy in Rome. It was named Best Documentary Short by Oscar-winning Breakwater Studios and earned a special U.S. Congressional Commendation.
In addition, Jered produced a New England Emmy–nominated project focused on medical civil rights, collaborates with Oscar winner Nani Walker (The Last Repair Shop), and secured international, multi-platform distribution for Her Fight, His Name through PBS, Life Stories, Collective Eye Films, OTV, and Emirates Airlines, as well as for Hale, a BAFTA-nominated Student Oscar winner in Documentary. He is also a 2026 How We Heal Film Lab Fellow.
