Terra Renee

For the past 28 years, Terra Renee, Founder and President of African American Women in Cinema (AAWIC), has championed women filmmakers and amplified diverse voices across the industry. A graduate of the School of Visual Arts, she began her career as an associate producer on independent films, including Island Alicia, which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. She has also worked with Universal Pictures and served as a judge for the Emmy Awards and Student Academy Awards.

Terra has produced major initiatives such as the Women of Excellence Salute Awards with Morgan Stanley and programming at the Sundance Film Festival. A recognized leader and author, her work extends into community advocacy, including anti-gun violence initiatives and civic engagement through New York City Speaks. She has studied at Harvard University and serves on global platforms including UNESCO, continuing to lead impactful film, television, and cultural initiatives worldwide.
